TRAPPED!!

Bodie came running down the hall yesterday, hysterical, saying that Jax was stuck under the bed. Apparently he crawled under his bed from the front and tried to sit up and found it didn't work. Poor kid! I even made him sit there a little longer so I could capture this:

Christmas parties and Christmas lights

This last weekend we went down to Utah for a Christmas Party. Travis was able to get off work and meet us in Salt Lake. It was so good to see him. I know that we just had him home for Thanksgiving, but we all missed him SO much. At the Christmas party, the kids got to see Santa and tell him what they wanted.

Even Jax took a turn.

Bodie was so excited, he could hardly hold his request in. Santa pulled Bodie on to his lap and you could see Bodie waiting in anticipation for that magic question. "What do you want for Christmas?" Santa could barely get the words out when Bodie blurted excitedly, " I want a Mac truck!!" You could just see in his eyes that he wanted to make sure that Santa knew his request. It was SO cute!!

Travis mentioned that being away has really helped him appreciate the little ones. Especially Harlee. For those of you that know her, she is pretty talkative and loves to be noticed. Travis loves her to death and thinks its funny the conversations that they can get into, but she can really try his patience too.
On the way down to SLC, Travis called me to check my progress and wanted to talk to Harlee and Bodie. I handed the phone back to them and they each took their turns talking to Dad. That is always fun for them. What I didn't know or pay attention to was what they were saying. Travis told me later that what he has realized about Harlee is that even though she tries his patience, she can be real sweet too. On the phone, Travis told her that he would be seeing her soon. Harlee replied with, " I can't wait to see you, Dad!" He said, that simple phrase made him realize that he really does love his kids and miss them. He always knew he loved them, but sometimes, it just hits ya!

We got to stay in a Hotel just down from Temple Square. We walked all around and saw all the lights and then, at Harlee's request, we rode the escalators in the North Visitors Center. Odd, but fun for the kids. Then we went swimming/soaking in the hot tub back at the hotel. It was so much fun being together as a family! We plan to have another family outing this weekend when we go to see Travis in Rock Springs. We're excited!!

Phelps' Family Younger Adult Christmas Party Invite!

Hello Family,

I thought this would be one way I could let a lot of you know the details about our Christmas Party this Friday night. Sorry it's so short notice. Uncle Brent and I kind of put this together a couple days ago. I think we should keep the tradition going too...I mean, the "old people" get to, so why not us, right?!? :) I hope a lot of you can make it. I don't have a lot of the cousin's contact info, so if you will pass this info on to anyone who you think doesn't know, that would help. Thanks!

I was thinking since it was such short notice - everyone could please bring an appetizer or snack type food. I'm going to make a dish, like Chili or Stew with bread, something like that. If anyone feels like cooking something also, that would be great! :)

For entertainment - The White Elephant Game...Everyone bring 1 small, cheapo, gift, even a dollar store or home made item, or a nice 1, it's up to you. I know money is tight for a lot of us so there's no pressure to spend more than a buck or 2.I just love the game. We can play a couple other games also. If anyone wants to bring a game or make up a game - bring it on!
I just love to get together to see everyone and catch up! Our family is growing so huge, I love you all and hope to see the "White House" crammed!!! For all those that have little children and no sitter, just please bring the kiddies with you...they can be entertainment too!

The Details:When: Friday, Dec. 5, at 6:30pmWhere: The White's Home; 843 W 3600 S, Bountiful, UtahBring: yourselves, an appetizer, dessert, or snack food, or a main dish, 1 white elephant gift per person. I hope all those that are able to, will come. I'm excited to see you all and know we'll have a great time. If you have any questions give me a call @ 801-294-4762 or leave me a note. I look forward to this weekend. Love you all, Darla K. White
P.S. Will you let me know who you've told or are going to pass this on to, even if they aren't coming, so I know who I need to contact. Thank You! :)

HATS!!

While in Cancun, my sis-in-law, Linnie, had the cutest hats. I decided that hats have come along way from baseball caps (which give me a headache) and so I went shopping today and found these. What do you think? I think they're fun and like Linnie says, it saves me from having to do my hair....

Family Home Evening

The Holidays are full of fun things and so I am sure that I will be posting more often, just because there is so much more going on. FHE is no exception. Don't get me wrong, we try and have FHE every week, but closer to the Holidays, they do get a bit more interesting for the kids...if you know what I mean. This last Monday we made gingerbread houses and it was so fun for them. Harlee loves arts and crafts and Bodie and Jax Love candy. So it was a good time had by all. This took some patience on my part because I am not a mess lover, so thanks to prayer and patience, we all had fun!! :)

The Proud owners/creators

And the Chocolate lover. He would cry out everytime he was empty handed. I was lucky he didn't get sick. He ate 3 hershey kisses and 1 mini candy cane. Having never really had that much chocolate, he was in Heaven

I'm an Aunt . . .again

My brother Clark is a new Daddy! His wife Kristy had a cute baby boy on Friday. It was long labor, but everything is fine now and, from what I hear, he is adorable. I was sent a few pics of the little guy, but I know that pictures are just not the same. Here he is....Kreed Tyler Phelps

He weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 21" long. The perfect size!
